LEAGUE CITY — The Clear Creek public school district announced Wednesday that Karen Engle will lead the district’s newest high school.
Engle will become the principal of the high school at Education Village. The school, which has yet to be named, will open in fall 2010.
Education Village is the first of its kind in Texas, district officials have said. It will feature three schools on one campus on state Highway 96 near state Highway 146.
The first school — Sandra Mossman Elementary School — will open in this fall. The intermediate school will open in fall 2010.
Engle is the principal of Clear View Education Center. Under her leadership, the center achieved a recognized rating, the state’s second highest accountability rating.
During her tenure as principal of Clear Lake City Elementary School, the campus received its first exemplary rating, the state’s highest rating.
Engle attended elementary, junior high and high school in the Clear Creek public school district.
She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Baylor University and a master’s degree in higher education-business from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
