Clear Creek 6, Houston Westside 5

HOUSTON – The Wildcats scored three runs in the first inning Saturday and held on to beat Houston Westside.

Landon Etzel went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and scored twice.

Harrison Hill went 2-for-4, and Michael Rohland went 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk and scored a run.

Starting pitcher Logan Howe gave up two runs on four hits with a walk and a strikeout in three innings, and reliever Dalton Devillier allowed three runs — two earned — on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts to get the win.

Ball High 8, Texas City 2

GALVESTON – The Tornadoes scored runs in five of the seven innings Friday on their way to a win against Texas City.

Ball High starter Mario Reyes pitched four innings to get the win. He allowed one run on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Jacob Fuller took the loss for Texas City, giving up six runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts in four innings on the mound.

The Tors were led on offense by David Hernandez, who went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored, and Jake Simon, who went 2-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and he reached base on a walk.

Texas City was led at the plate by leadoff hitter Zack Powell, who went 3-for-4 and scored a run, and Brandon Galvan, who went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Galena Park 3, Santa Fe 1

GALENA PARK – The Santa Fe Indians fell behind early in a loss to Galena Park on Friday.

Indians starting pitcher Ty Neumann took the loss. He allowed three runs — two earned — on seven hits, including a solo home run, walked two batters and struck out four.

Brandon Holder went 1-for-3 and scored the Santa fe run, while Timothy Johnson went 1-for-2 with an RBI and reached base on a walk.
