So my original assumption was correct. I pray you are still seeking God for God is Truth. May God Bless You and Yours and may you find that which will give you eternal happiness.

I got that impression when you wrote "I got tired of the hatred and fear mongering and left." You never wrote that you attended elsewhere. Good for you that you did not give up!

Just what makes you think I only attended one church or one denomination?

I run from messengers such as you!

I'm thrilled for him and his family. Local athlete who succeeded. I don't care about the rest but right now he is paving the road for many many people who are in the shadows. He deserves credit - not only for his hard work at honing his talents but for his choices. I wish him luck and I wish him a very long career. I feel happy every time I see that million dollar smile. I might even start watching football this year.

Is this guy playing ball yet?
Looks like most of the rest of the draftees have put some helmets on.
Now that the goal of getting a few million bucks worth of free publicity for a last round draft pick is over, somebody hike the darn ball, and put the distractions away...

I am not Southern Baptist but the ones I know do not spread hate and fear. I am sorry about your experience. You should have tried another Southern Baptist Church to see if it was just the preacher. The church should not center around the preacher but around Jesus Christ. As our deacon once preached, do not put your faith in any deacon, any priest, any bishop, any clergy for they are only men and subject to human failings. Put your full faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for your sins.
As for the Bible, there were other books written that were not included in church canon at the Council of Hippo. Some were pure fiction, some were written to mislead, some were written to create a "different Jesus" -one closer to their view of the world and some were written to make a fast buck. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the current Bible was put together but not without controversy.
Good luck and May God Bless You and Yours.

You folks sure seem to have a direct connection to God.

The bible is a collection of writings. There was a conference in what is now Turkey in 400AD to decide which writings to include in this collection. None of the writers knew Jesus. And not all writings were included.

I was raised a Southern Baptist. When I grew older I got tired of the hatred and fear mongering and left. Preachers use fear to hold their group together

Folks who think theirs is the only way are frightening and I stay away from them

The scenario you describe of the homosexual man marrying and fathering children will not condemn him. God knows that he fought temptation throughout his life and followed scripture. Jesus also healed people on the sabbath, discouraged divorce, discouraged stoning those found in adultery contrary to Mosaic law. He also gave this command to his apostles: "Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Matthew 18:18
Remember, it is Jesus who declares all food clean and Jesus is Lord. So eat your bacon and your fried shrimp but don't offer them to your Jewish friends. They are still under Mosaic Law.

However, if you happen to be a homosexual, but you follow the norms and marry a woman and have children, the Christians among us will all think you're a good person. However, God knows your soul, and He knows that you have a big sin to repent--that of living a lie. If you're homosexual, and you live a life alone despite having love to share, you're still living a lie.

As a practicing Jew, Jesus was supposed to abstain from pork. Instead, He declared pork to be clean.

I know one thing,...I pray over the leadership and boundaries of this country, state, and this whole Gulf Coast,....especially this county and it's Mayors, but I might ask the Lord to ease me off a little for Santa Fe not because they are not as important as anybody else to me or HIM, but........BECAUSE HE already HAS A MAN OF GOD TROLLING THAT AREA OVER THERE CALL CARLOS PONCE!!!!!! That man knows the Word!!!
    -
It's like the Lord told a certain man of God years ago,..."What?" "You think you are the only one who loves me out there?" "Well,...you are wrong buddy!" "I have 5000 over there who is still in the fight you are in!"
    -
I took the liberty of paraphrasing a little but that is basically what the word said......... ( Elijah running from Jezebel ).
    -
It thrills me to see people of God Stand up. While I'm talking I "might-as-whata"
( might as well ) "Halldoff" ( go on ) and give a big shout out to that League City City Council one more time! I'm so proud of that Council I could go on a pilgrimage trip to LC just to give each one responsible for standing strong a big BEAR HUG!
    -
Like it or not League City is now the gateway to the GULF and Satan knows that!
He figured if he could take League City out, he could then take Santa Fe, Dickinson, Hitchcock, LaMarque, Texas City and Galveston on the cheap, like a line of dominos falling down in order. Ohhhhh, but League City Stood strong and their faith failed not! Praise God! Thank Ya!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN!

And raifm, do you and your brother LIVE TOGETHER?
When brothers live together and one of them dies without a son, the widow of the deceased shall not marry anyone outside the family; but her husband’s brother shall come to her, marrying her and performing the duty of a brother-in-law.The firstborn son she bears shall continue the name of the deceased brother, that his name may not be blotted out from Israel. But if a man does not want to marry his brother’s wife, she shall go up to the elders at the gate and say, “My brother-in-law refuses to perpetuate his brother’s name in Israel and does not intend to perform his duty toward me.Thereupon the elders of his city shall summon him and speak to him. If he persists in saying, “I do not want to marry her,” his sister-in-law, in the presence of the elders, shall go up to him and strip his sandal from his foot and spit in his face, declaring, “This is how one should be treated who will not build up his brother’s family!”
So if you and your brother and sister-in-law live together then you are duty bound should he die but you can refuse. I seriously doubt that your sister-in-law will go through the ritual. And when can you find elders at the city gate when you need them?

But may I add that if you have homosexual tendencies and do not act upon them and live a celibate life you are not condemned. Likewise, a practicing homosexual can repent and ask God for forgiveness. He will be forgiven if it is truly within his heart and see Paradise.

raifm, Jesus did not come to condemn but to save. He defines marriage as between a man and a woman. He defines sex as between a man and a woman. To go against the teachings of Jesus is to CONDEMN yourself. If you cannot perceive that through His words that homosexual acts are wrong then I cannot help you. Condemnation for homosexuality is ALREADY found throughout the Old and New Testament. If however, through your works and words you cause others to falter, Jesus DOES condemn you.
He said to his disciples, “Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person THROUGH WHOM they occur. It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. Luke 17:1-2
As a practicing Jew, Jesus considered homosexuality a sin as did his disciples. Leviticus 20:13

You did not answer my question, Where in the new testament does Jesus condemn homosexuality.?

    If I were to follow old testament teachings, I would have to marry my sister in law if my brother died{ Onan}

That's what I would believe. Which is why I posed the rhetorical question. I fully expect that some of my sins might fall into the "oops" category and be somewhat readily forgiven. Others might require a bit more atonement to prove my sincerity. After that, we'll see if I have any left that I either can't atone for, or are bad enough that they'll guarantee my condemnation.

I don't suggest that man do anything but what he has done! He has finally told the truth and stopped the Wild #*&# deception game. I applaud him for saying what he said! He said, "I JUST CANNOT DO IT!"
    -
It is to much lying going on in this world today,...so I actually think more of him because he finally told the truth that I've been knowing for a long time anyway, unlike a few more who are still deceiving and playing games. Everybody has to make their own gamble, or decision! He's heard the truth, now it is up to him,...HE will hear no condemnation nor hostility from me because he will not embrace those "antiquated principles scribbled in various tablets" as he calls the laws of GOD!
    -
There are things I could elaborate on pertaining to that also,...but this is not about that now, this is bout this man finally telling the STRAIGHT-UP TRUTH on this forum on a Friday evening, after operating in deception for so long! One thing for sure and that is if he ever is converted,....history will show, THIS admission was the first step in making that happen!
    -
So again I applaud the man for telling the truth! That is all I wanted to say! I'm out! See yall on another thread,.......IF IT IS WORTHY!

God's forgiveness is not a game. It's not a "Get out of Hell Free Card". Woe to the person who does wrong thinking ALL he has to do is say "sorry". The Lord looks into your heart and granted some will be forgiven for just saying "sorry" but others will not if they use it as an "escape clause".

Is the ability to steal, bribe, defraud, etc., and then repent and be forgiven what motivates our politicians? Gosh, if you can do whatever you want, as long as you follow it up with sincere apologies and requests for forgiveness, there's going to be a lot of lawyers and politicians in Heaven.

You don't have to believe me, you just have to believe God. I'm just a messenger crying in the wilderness. I suggest you see the movie "Heaven is Real" or better yet, read the book. I pray you get your sign before it's too late. Soon and very soon we are going to see the King! ¡Viva Cristo Rey!

Well, it 'aint as easy as all that...to profess to an entity and think that all of one's dastardly deeds will be excused if he/she simply asks for forgiveness. It's just too simplistic to think that you'll find this land of honey, everlasting if you adhere to antiquated principles scribbled in various tablets.

Now, I think if one has nothing more to believe in and the mysticism and fantasy of adherence to the fantasy Lord God helps make one more centered and a better person, then religiosity has some benefit. I just wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. Most of us choose to live our "here and now" life in the best ways possible - to treat others with respect, to be non-judgmental. If there's a sign that my life in the thereafter will be wondrous if I become duly educated in everything Biblical, then I'm waiting.

That's right, carlos. Those litte innocent children (most in the comfort of their suburban living rooms) saw two guys kissing, and thus are scarred for life.

But, 2/3 of the rest of the world have little kids starving and/or living in war-torn areas that likely forbid that "demon homosexuality". So, who's worse off - the US in all our abundance (and overplay of same sex PDA) or the war-torn countries that have problems much bigger than two dudes making out?

sverige, any sin will keep you from Heaven. But every sin except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is forgivable. So a woman with all the virtues of a Mother Teresa would not make it if she lied and that lie went unconfessed, unforgiven. On the other hand, remember the thief who died on the cross next to Jesus. He made it to Paradise. So before it is too late, REPENT and SIN NO MORE! And if you backslide, beg for the Lord's forgiveness and move on. There are saints who confessed daily. No one is perfect. But to tell the world that certain actions are acceptable, even though the Bible says they are not, is very wrong especially if you mislead.
[Jesus] said to his disciples, “Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person THROUGH WHOM they occur. It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, ‘I am sorry,’ you should forgive him.”
    Luke17:1-4
So we do not judge but we do rebuke their actions. Jesus commands us to do so. From some of your writings I'd avoid millstones if I were you. Any grist mills in Galveston County?

Allow me to field that question for Mr. Ponce, who I have watched and listened to, and know that he is unafraid to stand up against the wiles and fiery darts of Satan and his crowd on this forum! If he is unafraid to do such things on this forum, I am pretty sure he is unafraid to be a standing disciple at home before his family and out in the fields of the world.
    -
My guess or position on you because of all YOUR doubt, double mindedness, disrespect to GOD, HIS SON, in the ridiculing of the word, Jesus Christ, and God, along with the scoffing of Christianity, that you are of those who are not of GOD, nor of Jesus Christ! So figure it out, don't make me say it!!!!!! I've read where you have called Jesus a "DEAD MUMMY" and made fun of Christians for believing in an "INVISIBLE,..IMAGINARY GOD!!" Also you have supporters of the foolishness from certain others on this forum,...which means you have succeeded in deceiving a few already and are aiming for more!
    -
So as a result I don't even believe you have the faith to truly believe you will inherit God's Kingdom everlasting! I'm not surprised because YOU are not alone in your deceit, and deception! Only thing, Jesus said for those who serve him, to observe the fruit of those among you in the latter days, and you will observe many who are posing as people of GOD but are actually raving wolves in sheep clothing, working for SATAN!, trying to lead unsuspecting souls astray!
This is the reason I'm very conscious of "CIA CHRISTIANS" who never say good things about GOD in public, who seems to always be on the contradicting or negative sides of the issues as they pertains to the Works of Christians in the earth.
    -
There are others doing the same thing from what I can see. They are ashamed to stand up for what Jesus stood for,...ASHAMED of the name of Jesus Christ! Matthew 10:32
    -
"Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven." ( He also said if you are ashamed of him, he will be ashamed of you ).
    -
The Apostle Paul said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Romans 1:16).
    -
What you and others do not realize and will never realize is that your being the enemy against GOD in tis world makes you our enemy as well, and being so you are "BREAD" for the servants of GOD in this land! ( Numbers 14:8-9)
    -
    8) If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. 9) Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”
    -
Lastly I want to inform some and remind others that the Word of Gods says this:
the way you can tell what a man is about, just listen to his words, and watch him,...see if his words and actions line up with the words and actions of Christ.
    -
    Matthew 12:34
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. ( Your words on this forum tell Mr. Ponce and JBG EXACTLY weather you are a sheep or a goat, and what you are about!!!!! ) BECAUSE......
    -
    Proverbs 23:7
.. for as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
    -
See, what's in a man's heart in abundance will spill over out of his mouth and into his hands in what actions he takes or performs! I know who you are Mr. "B", it is no big mystery to us. Now, I need to go find me some sports to get off on? BTW, do you like sports? It's really enlightening and it soothes the flesh!
    -
Hey! See you on another thread, if it is a good'en! Goodbye! See, I don't lose arguments, because I don't argue! I had one of your supporters say just the other day, JBG, you are always quoting scriptures! Yea duahhhhhhh! Scriptures are the Word of God and I live by the Word of GOD! The Word of God is truth and I live by Truth not by facts and conjecture like many on this forum! This is enough for today,...or else I'll have to start charging you! See you on another thread, ......if it is worthy!

So, thieves, sodomites, adulterers, homosexuals are all sinful and will eventually meet some kind of big inferno when they die here on earth. So, my question is to what degree of sin will coincide with the intensity of the inferno and the inability to "inherit the Kingdom of God"?

That is, if I rolled in the hay with my soccer buddy in 2001 for a few months, broke it off, and married a female with all her lady parts - and I've been married for 14 years to her - will I inherit the Kingdom of God? What if I cheated on her just twice in 2005 with a tranny (a person who was going through gender reassignment), but got back with my wife? Will I still inherit the Kingdom of God if I go to church, confession, and profess my love of the Lord?

Now, what about a 50 year-old robber/thief who has lived a 30 year life of crime, where he murdered 250 people while he was a druglord in Central America, yet he went to church all those years, including Confession?

Then, what about the young man of 28 who, for 10 years since high school, has had a male lover. And, this 28 year old man died of cancer, yet has no record of "cheating" on his male lover? But, this 28 year-old was raised by an athiest and only went to a church once, and left before the service was over? Will this person inherit the Kingdom of God?

So, you see....the proclaimers of the Kingdom of God are playing with quite a few "gray areas". Let's face it - none of us have the answers no matter what a patchwork storybook (Bible) has written in it.

Since 'homosexual' wasn't even in the common language until something over 100 years ago, the condemnation in the time of Jesus would have been, and was, over the word in use at that time to describe the act of homosexuality, along with other sinful acts involving sex or illicite relations.
Take a look at Jude 1:7, and see the commonly used blanket descriptive word of the time for yourself.
I don't want to get booted off again in case someone is 'offended' by for.....ion....
Good Christians, of which I make no claim to be in comparison to so many who are, love the sinner, but not their sinful ways and deeds...it's really quite simple to understand, agree or not.
As a not-so-good-one, I sometimes don't have much use for the sinners, either...
Nobody, in this world, is perfect...

Jesus spoke of marriage as between a man and a woman, no such thing as same sex marriage: He (Jesus) said in reply, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? Mathew 19: 3-5
To become one flesh (sexual union) you need a 'male and a female' in Jesus' words.
Jesus was a practicing Jew, studied Torah, Bar Mitzvahed, spoke in the temple. In the Torah "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, they have committed an abomination." Leviticus 20:13 Jesus set aside parts of Mosaic law such as stoning of those found in adultery. Where he did not, the law holds.
When I read from the Old or New Testament in Church, the readings are followed by the phrase "The Word of the Lord". "Do you not know that the unrighteous will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God" Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God. That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 CORINTHIANS 6: 9-11
So it's not just homosexuals that fall short of the Kingdom, We are all sinners so all fall short. It is only through Jesus Christ that anyone is saved. And once saved we try hard not to sin but ask forgiveness if we do. There are more examples in the Old and New Testament. As a practicing Jew, Jesus never set that part of the law aside and he reaffirmed that marriage is between a man and a woman.Mathew 19: 3-5

Jbgood is not an accuser, nor a judge. He is simply the messenger. Does the Word of God frighten you? If it does then the problem lies within. Remember, Jesus and John the Baptist were considered "out there".
Jesus spoke about "fake Christians": Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
To Jbgood I offer:"Matthew 5:11“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account."

A free will means just that, you are free on the outside, in the physical to make any decision you feel big enough to make,...against the Laws of the land, and against the laws of GOD. However, if a man is not FREE from his own FLESH, on the inside, then though he is called free by society, he is STILL a perpetual SLAVE unable to comply and fulfill his Godly destiny! When a man rebels against the laws of God and man, there is going to be a PRICE or PENALTY which will be forthcoming when you are caught for the laws of MAN! Not so with the laws of GOD,.....you are "CAUGHT"....when you make the decision to transgress GOD'S laws or Commandments even before you commit them.

If you want to do what Mr. Sam is doing,...it is your right, have at it,...or maybe you might desire to be a first class "PEDOPHILE".....then go for it! Thief,...Murderer anyone? Go for it!

All brother Paul is saying here is that you are obligated to conduct yourself in some satisfactory degree of self-control,...working for growth in the spirit by the grace of the word,...and thereby controlling the SATONIC FLESH which every man possesses within himself. If not, you will have no control but what that FLESH allows you to exercise! It is no better than having someone STEAL your identity and proceed to live the life meant for you!
    -
I have certain members of my family who acts the fool daily and do not know "HOW COME" ( WHY )! If no drama is going on by Tuesday of every week they will get involved and start the HATE mill rolling, because of the lack of self control!
    -
Gecroix is right, there have been gay football players in the NFL for years, who have played long careers, and retired and did their thing. Sam felt a need to want more, just as many other groups are wanting. I fully expect multi member marriages to make a comeback,...and even "PEDOPHILES" to start demanding their rights!
    -
I expect men to begin wanting to marry animals and if you are laughing,...don't!
Some years ago, if someone told people about what going on today,...they would have had a hoot! However, as you can see, nobody is laughing now, but SATAN!
    -
It really tick me off that some "Fake Christians" will disgrace the Word and defile the work of Jesus Christ by siding with the darkness and perpetual sin manufacturing going on in the world today by Satan and those serving him! They are not even "LUKEWARM" Christians in my opinion! Jesus said Himself, that even a LUKEWARM Christian who sought to have one foot in the Kingdom of God,...faking his allegiance to the Lord, but the other foot is in the WORLD,....supporting the works of SATAN,...that he wanted to vomit them out of his mouth!!! (Revelation 3:16 )
    -
If you are going to claim to be standing tall for GOD,...then *(&***^ do it, iif not go serve Satan and stop faking, God can see, and he understands real good too. Stop being afraid, and trying to appease certain little political correct groups and speak up for what is really right! It is sic-ni-fy-ing to watch! I'm not talking about you though , I'm talking about those other folks!

If I've said this once, I've said it a thousand times, there is a day of reckoning on the way,...there will be those on the right hand side and there will be others on the left hand side of the great HIGH JUDGE! At that time Christ will not be functioning as the SAVIOR, of love but as the LION of Judah,...Judge of all flesh! I'll be on his right hand side! ( Matt. 25:33 ).

sverige, as long as there are God loving people in the land of the free and the home of the brave I don't think we will ever live up to your "ideal". What you call socially advanced some call "Eurotrash". I will not be so judgmental. I foresee a time when every knee in the world, even Europe, will bend and proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior and ask forgiveness for their debauchery. "Soon and very soon we are going to see the King." AMEN!

That's why the US simply hasn't caught up with the rest of the first world nations in regard to social advancement. It is so commonplace to not bat an eye in places like Amsterdam, where couples of all kinds are embracing, kissing, or whatever.

We still have a Puritan mindset in USA, but maybe not so much in the hetero populace anymore. The TV shows (and your reference to Jolie and such) attest to that. But, when it comes to female nudity in public places, and/or same-sex PDA, we all act like elementary/middle school boys, a la South Park's Cartman.

I fault ESPN for broadcasting this. They should have exercised caution realizing young people would be watching and used a timed delay broadcast. If they did not anticipate this then there is no intelligence at that network. They probably knew and showed it for ratings.

servitude, you're not the media so my comment didn't refer to what you think. The media seems to be what's driving much of the political correctness divisiveness whether it's sports, politics, or business.

I video recorded Michael Sam's Graduation in 2009 from Hitchcock High School. Unlike some of his classmates he did not dance across the stage. He did embrace the principal and one of his coaches on stage and kissed one of the female administrators but she did not object.
While the fans did not object to Tebow's open display of Christianity, the Denver Bronco hierarchy felt it was a distraction, hence the trade. Some of the media sided with the fans but others felt it had no place in the NFL.

Raise your keyboard if you figure Michael Sam is the only homosexual in pro-football.
    Anyone?
    Anyone?
The rest are evidently there to play ball, not put on a sexual orientation sideshow.
The fans don't pay big money for tickets and extras to hear the sage advice or politically correct thoughts of the athletes, or to watch them swap spit with their honey. At least this fan doesn't.
    Shut up, and play ball....
Get into the other team's face, rather than into ours...
    Thank you.

I see no difference. I recall that Tebow was generally well-received in regard to his Christianity and his reverence in regard to praying before a game and such. Sure, there were those critics who thought HE was seeking publicity, but those critics were soon relegated to the pile of being envious of his success and personal/electrifying personality.

He seemed (and still does) seem to be a good representative of sportsmanship through Christianity. No, I don't see a difference. Now, we have Sam who is accused of publicity "stunting" in regard to his kiss, dramatic phone call, and so on. I have to admit, the emotion presented during/after phone call was "staged", as was the call. But, how is that different from Tebow repeatedly kneeling down, thanking God for those opportunities to play and wishes for good results?

There are Bible verses that say that it isn't ideal to publicly pray -

    MATTHEW 6:5 -

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."

What I remember is the media hounding Tebow and making a big deal about how he should not be so open about his Christianity. Quite different from making a big deal about how open he is about his homosexuality.

I remember when Angelina Jolie was with Billy Bob Thornton and they did things on the red carpet that grossed ME out. That in addition to the matching tattoos and vials of each other's blood.

It was brave of Sam to come out before the draft so teams knew what they could expect. Had he waited, they would have said he deluded them and covered up his sexuality. Ya' can't win for tryin'.

I guess if ole' Johnny 'Football' Manziel should be happy about anything, it's that he was picked before our Hometown Hitchcock Hero.

Time will tell who plays better.... and isn't that the point, anyway?

Well, I dunno about that. Seems like Tebow had a really good and popular following, and the ladies really liked him.

Now, er, his football talents, in the professional sense, eventually came to question. Didn't he get "dropped" and now does abercrombie and underwear ads?

I think it's pretty telling about the biased message the media is constantly trying to brainwash us with. Sam is a "hero" for coming out as gay and Tim Tebow is trashed and ridiculed for coming out as a Christian. It's why I won't spend one dime to watch professional sports or Hollywood garbage.

Let him have his day. You're right; it'll get old quick, and the media will quit messing with it. In the meantime, I think what Sam did was incredibly brave, even if lots of others don't.

Evans will get plenty of love, especially when he starts getting paid as a top pick, and when he starts making Pro Bowls.

Why is he getting more love than Evans? No one from Galveston County has ever been drafted higher than Evans. But because he isn't gay, he doesn't get the story-after-story coverage.

I think Sam just came out for the media exposure! Now everytime something happens to him it will "be because he's gay".

If he gets a penalty, people will think "aww. It's because he's gay"

He is going to pull the gay card more than Jesus pulled the love-your-neighbor-card.

    It will get old quick

Let's insert the word is a "does not liker" in place of "hater". Mgtex is a "does not liker" of two men sleeping together.

How about two women sleeping together? To many hetero guys, that's kinda hot to see that. Is that just as bad? I respect your right to not prefer to see "PDA", but I never saw a forum posted by mgtex that objected to a man and a woman making out at a news conference. If you did such a post, can you let me know which post it was? Was it when Gisele Bundchen kissed Tom Brady, or how about when Angelia Jolie and Brad Pitt had that cuddle fest on the red carpet. Ewww, gross.

Now, don't you feel a little childish pointing out that you don't like 2 guys making out? Why don't you just turn your head?

"normal"?? since when is homosexuality normal? it has been pressed on the Judeo Christian foundation of this country by an activist front. There is nothing normal about men sleeping together.

And, if I had seen a guy and girl licking cake off of each other's faces I would have said the same thing .. grow up ... It wasn't just an "embrace".

There is no denying this is an activist agenda pushed on to society, that sadly the majority of Americans have let happen.

You go ahead and be "morally and intellectually superior" to all of us. It's not us you have to answer to ... I pray for a stronger country that will stand for right rather than cower to pressures of the world.

Remember, we have the same rights to criticize your pro gay agenda that you have to criticize our pro biblical agenda. I respect your right, I hope you respect mine.

Again, just in case you didn't read it the fist several times I wrote it ... I do not "hate" Mr Sam or anybody. I pray for him, for you, and for me.

So stop with the last retort of "haters" for people who do not agree with you. That is lazy debating and does not work on those who think rather than feel and react ...

Goes to show you that our country still has a lot of learning to do in regard to accepting people who don't fit into our limited mindset of what's "normal", "moral", or "appropriate".

For those who made negative comments about Mr. Sam (and gay/lesbians in general) -
Is it trendy to be bitter of other people's accomplishments, and is it also trendy to express that "two guys kissing is gross"? If so, then I'm gladly in the camp of folks who buck the trends.

Mr. Sam seems to be a fine resident of Galveston county who is going places. More power to him, best of luck. And, I hope we get to see more pictures of him kissing his boyfriend so that the "haters" can be even more uncomfortable. Get with the 21st century! [beam]

It's trendy to be gay now. It doesn't show courage to come out. In fact the only reason why he was drafted was because he is gay...

How many times can we say congratulations to the young man ... Yes we KNOW he is gay. My goodness can we stop writing articles about it??? What was so courageous about a guy saying who he is attracted to? One story about a top 10 pick in the entire draft, and countless stories about a 7th round pick? I think it is a fantastic accomplishment to get drafted in any round, but come on ...

The story should be how the media and NFL is trying to bully anybody who has a negative opinion about homosexuality. I thought the NFL had an anti bullying campaign, yet they are running one right now against anybody who has an opinion ... Fining somebody for their thoughts, yet glorifying somebody for smearing cake on their boyfriend's face and licking it off, calling it an embrace? The world is turning upside down. I am just glad I have Jesus, and I don't need the world's blessing. Let me remind all the open minded tolerant folks who want to scold me now that I love Mr Sam, but am just pointing out that his lifestyle is completely against God's word. I am not perfect, nor am I judging him. That is not my job or ability. I am I am a sinner too, and pray for Gods forgiveness every day. I pray Mr Sam finds that same light and peace one day too.
