GALVESTON – Jose Rendon allowed one run in seven innings, and his Whitecaps teammates came through with a pair of runs in their last at-bat Saturday for a 2-1 win against Alvin Community College.

Pinch runner Shelby Collier replaced him at first base.
After Joshua Santos-Torres popped out for the second out, Nathan Turner singled and Collier reached third, then scored on the throw with Turner advancing to second base.

In the second game, Baron ended a scoreless tie with two outs in the 12th inning with a walk-off single to give Galveston College the win.
Baron went 2-for-6.
Like in the opener, Gladu started the rally with a pinch-hit single. Collier was brought in as a pinch runner, and he scored from second base on Baron’s hit.
