Report of ling caught at jetties

Big trout continue to make the fishing news, and the first reported ling of the season was landed at the jetties.

Wednesday morning, with a stiff north wind still blowing, Pat Santry headed out of Sea Isle Bait Camp with live shrimp to fish West Bay. It turned out to be a good decision for the angler from Sea Isle who landed two trout, one measuring 28 inches and weighing more than 7 pounds, while the other was a 3.8-pound fish measuring 22 inches. A red fish — a 23-inch slot weighing 5.2 pounds — also was part of the stringer.
