Let's do some comparison: HOMICIDES PER 100,000 in population
    Guatemala 38.5
    El Salvador 41.2
    Honduras 86.5
    source: http://static.latercera.com/20131112/1849801.jpg
It looks like Hondurans need to get their act together
    Baltimore 34.9
    Detroit 54.6
    Newark 34.4
    Oakland 31.8
    St. Louis 35.5
    New Orleans 53.2
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_cities_by_crime_rate
Highest City in Texas Listed is Dallas with 12.4. No wonder everyone wants to come to Texas! I think we should welcome refugee children from New Orleans and Detroit if we are going to use hometown violence as the criterion. Already the African-Americans of South side Chicago are crying out that Obama is neglecting them.

I get crunked when every time I see the abortion statistics in this country, and the numbers of all those involved in perpetuating them, but that just me. Somebody else might have a different opinion on this subject, but that is just them.

How do we stop the influx of kids into USA
Work with thier home countrys to keep them at home?
Work with Mexico to enfource thier laws to keep them out?
Turn them back at are boarders, even with force?
What do we do with the kids already here, Give them the hearings faster with Judges at boarders? House them at boarders because alot of people don't want them in thier city's?
This problem is the result of many years of passing it off to the one's that come after them.
What has the Senate,House, President really done about this problem (now or in past). None of them has done squat, but to blame each others.
What have You done about this problem, have you written the people in D.C. and let them know what You think.
If not then you are part of the problem.

What will 'save the children' from the homicide statistics of Chicago?
Anybody care about them, our own citizens...?

The countries these children come from are predominantly Catholic. Faith will not keep them from being a homicide statistic there.

Throughout history parents have sought the best for their children, even if it meant sending them away. During World War II, many people sent children to safer countries. Even Moses was shipped down river in a bulrush basket.

It saddens me that someone would try to use Jesus as an excuse to turn children away.

Take out 'illegal aliens' from section 2, and the City's police power ALREADY was as stated, when prudently exercised, wasn't it?
Doesn't every city have the same police powers, prudently exercised?

If so, then the issue is the specific mention of 'illegal aliens' .
How is that different, other than other cities are not bussing their citizens to Dickinson, as far as anyone knows?

    Question:
What does the opposition to the resolution as stated propose?
Come one, come all? How, in actual practice, as it effects the citizens, without the emotional element, is opposing the federal dumping of people, any people, on a town who have no means of support and no prospects for such any different from resolutions or laws against vagrancy ?

Ah, the WORST CASE SCENARIO -Use of (drum roll please) DEADLY FORCE!!!!
This reminds me of "Independence Day" when they nuked Houston, Texas to ward off an alien invasion. Don't worry. It won't come to that. With the publicity the League City resolution has garnered they will be steered to Bleeding Heart friendly cities like Dallas and San Francisco.

You want to know what JESUS would do Reverend? Okay I'll tell you. So I want you to listen. These kids would have never "BULL RUSHED" our borders, Reverend, because Jesus would have His disciples down there teaching and preaching and spreading the Word! He said GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD, and teach all nations what I have Taught you! You doing that Reverend? How many churches and pastors do you know who are doing it! I'm talking about the Great Commission here. If that was going on, it would work in South America just as it worked here, or don't you agree, that God has no limitations? Oh talk back to me!!!!!!!
    -
I'll tell you another thing, all those kids who are aborted every month and year in THIS COUNTRY, ........JESUS wanted somebody to SUFFER them to be bought unto HIM TOO! Would you agree? Question:
How many articles have you written about that practice? What do you say sir? How many?
    -
Oh talk back to me if you can!!!!!!!!!!

Carlos Here is the section that Bigjim is referring to. "Section 2. That in order to control the potential threat of communicable diseases reported to be prevalent among illegal aliens, all appropriate agencies of the City of League City are instructed to prudently exercise the City’s police power in any manner necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of League City." This includes the use of DEADLY FORCE. But the point is moot because the resolution is a paper tiger. Just for show and a play to their small personal political base. You bought into it and that is exactly what they wanted. Congrats you have been had.

Would that be possible because his church is in League City.
Rev. Dr. Tom Day is rector of St. Christopher Episcopal Church in League City
Did the city just say they did not want the kids? So how would this work?

Sean Hannity was at the border interviewing a priest, Father Larry Snyder, and a nun with Catholic Charities. They are taking care of the children's immediate needs but concluded that the best thing is to reunite them with their parents and talk to the Central American governments to remedy the turmoil there.

Rev. Day, please fill every available space on the church property with accommodations for these children. Lead the way with your church rather than preach to others about what we should do.
