GALVESTON — A pair of bandits stole cash, high-end phones and tablets during the armed robbery of an electronics store, authorities said Wednesday. No injuries were reported in the 6:38 p.m. Saturday robbery of Radio Shack, 4714 Seawall Blvd., Galveston police Lt. Michael Gray said.
Gray described the men as tall, black and having dark complexions. They wore dark clothing, stood 6 feet 2 inches tall and wore bandannas to cover their faces. One of the robbers brandished a pistol and ordered a clerk into a storage area in search of items such as iPhones and iPads.
“They went after the high-end, portable electronic devices like cellphones and tablets,” Gray said.
The robbers took $3,500 in cash and fled through the back door with bags containing $15,000 in electronics. Police were unable to learn whether the men left on foot or in an automobile.
As of Wednesday, police also had no photographs or surveillance video to release, Gray said.
Gray asked anyone with information on the heist to call the police department’s nonemergency number at 409-765-3702.
