Cannon could headline Texas City’s Juneteenth

TEXAS CITY — Now that the city’s museum is home to a 10,000-pound piece of Civil War history, a city commissioner wants to make it the main attraction in a celebration of Juneteenth.

Last month, a restored 12-foot-long long cannon that was pulled from the depths of the Texas City Ship Channel in 2009 was put on display at the Texas City Museum.
