LA MARQUE — A man was arrested Wednesday on allegations he assaulted his girlfriend’s husband, knocking the other man’s eye out of its socket and sending him to the hospital, police said.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Lowell Sidney Mills, 42, after an altercation at a home in the 600 block of Orange Street on April 25, La Marque police Sgt. Shawn Spruill said.

Mills got into an argument with his girlfriend, and was confronted by the woman’s husband, Spruill said. Mills is accused of beating the man, possibly with a weapon, he said.

The man was transported to Mainland Medical Center and then taken by air ambulance to be treated at a Houston hospital, Spruill said.

Mills was arrested Wednesday night in the 1000 block of FM 1765 and charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. His bond was set at $80,000.
