Backyard bee colony attacks children

GALVESTON — Bees legally kept in a backyard hive attacked two children as they walked along a sidewalk. One was stung 35 times, an official said Thursday.

The bees kept in a backyard in the 7000 block of Sycamore Drive attacked the pair shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, said Elizabeth Rogers, a spokeswoman for the city of Galveston.
