It is possible the leak came from the "Pro" housing faction. Where ever the leak came from
It will never be found. A total waste of taxpayer money. Suzie Green would not have overreacted,
In the way our new city attorney has. Seems nice enough, appears to have the expertise to handle
The job. This investigation in my humble opinion just draws state wide attention, to our Islands
Inabilities. Makes a bad problem worse. Hopefully not much time and money will be wasted on this.
To many important issues facing our City.

Where do we find these City Attorneys? Clearly they are chosen from a pool of lawyers who cannot get a real job at a actual law firm.

Get rid of the staff lawyer and hire instead a competent paralegal to keep the records and do the ground work for the private attorneys that they hire for every single issue anyway. The city paralegal will hold down the billable hours of the high-priced outside attorneys' firms that they will hire regardless.

The four councilmen that voted to spend our city funds to chase down the responsible person should be voted out of office for wasting our money.
Our pompous city attorney Palumbo should be fired immediately.

"SOMEONE has done this EVIL DEED, and they are GOING TO PAY, by GOD, for possibly BANKRUPTING the City, upsetting the GLO and telling everyone there is NO SANTA CLAUS".

OMG David. There is just one embarrassment stacked on top of another these days. I find the most interesting part of this entire term is that there is nor self consciousness about Council members conduct at all. None. They can attack Beeton, suppress Tarlton, dismiss Norman, try to run a bill through the house of Representatives that would do a very bad thing to us here and to Patterson and the GLO and it simply doesn't register that the day to day conduct is insane for a body like this one. Does not occur to them at all.

Then, after running the bill (HB 1560) through committee such that Patterson has to come out and personally squelch it, the vengeance and bile effort of today is energized by "Upsetting the GLO?"

If all that trouble and rhetoric during the Campaign has not brought the GLO down on us, a simple options report surely would not. Fact is, the rhetoric has brought them down on us. If the money does not come now, it will be have started during what each of the Council members said during their campaign plus the fact that a couple of Council Members have shown-- in several other instances-- that they simply are not trustworthy.

Wouldn't it be grand if the legal report says-- after all of the investigation--that our Mayor had left his copy in the toilet and John Wayne found it there?[scared]

Attended the first hour and can only say sad, sad, sad. Finally, the council does what we've asked them to do all along - look at all the options - and now they're all in a tither over a leak that so indicates. The best theatre of all was the mayor's 'written statement' that said, basically, "SOMEONE has done this EVIL DEED, and they are GOING TO PAY, by GOD, for possibly BANKRUPTING the City, upsetting the GLO and telling everyone there is NO SANTA CLAUS".

What he doesn't realize is that that someone is a hero to many of us who are tired of City Council's secretive ways.

The greatest irony of all is that it took Scattered Site - in other words, Public Housing in THEIR neighborhood - get them started down the right path.

This is, by far, the greatest waste of public money in the history of Galveston.

Thanks to Elizabeth, Norm and Terrylin for their sensible comments. For the rest of you - Hooey.

Demand that the First Amendment be set aside just because you got caught saying one thing while doing another?
    Good luck with that.
The GDN is on firm ground on this one.
It is a little ironic to consider amending your ethics policy, because you weren't exhibiting much in the way of such on this subject.
Of course, the article didn't mention in what direction the policy was to be amended, higher, or lower.
