GALVESTON — An 18-month probe into illegal narcotics sales in three cities led to the arrest of five people and the seizure of drugs and cash, authorities said Friday.
Sheriff’s deputies aided members of the FBI, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Galveston police in the Thursday seizure of what authorities said was $60,000 in cocaine, ecstasy and methamphetamine. Officers also reported seizing $10,930 in cash from a residence at 18 Colony Park Circle in Galveston, according to a statement.
Alfonzo Quintanilla, 41, of La Marque, and Michille Henry, 35, of Galveston, were accused of selling 9 ounces of cocaine Thursday to undercover authorities. That led to a search of a residence on Colony Park Circle in Galveston, according to statements from the sheriff’s office and Galveston police.
The search led to the seizure of 9 ounces of cocaine, 129 grams of ecstasy and 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, authorities said. Authorities said they suspected the cash seized was from drug sales.
Henry was charged with two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and ecstasy. Her bonds totaled $600,000.
Quintanilla was jailed on a $500,000 bond on two counts of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance. Quintanilla was also wanted on a parole violation that prevented his release on bond.
Authorities also arrested Victor Provost, 37, of Galveston, Carlos Francis Hernandez, 40, of La Marque, and Vincent Ramos, 34, of San Leon. Ramos faced no drug charges but was held without bond on a parole board warrant.
Provost was charged with one count of manufacture or delivery and two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and ecstasy. His bonds totaled $450,000.
Hernandez was arrested on a charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance weighing less than 4 grams, and his bond was set at $250,000.
All five suspects remained at the Galveston County Jail on Friday, according to the statement.
