GALVESTON — The Rosenberg Library now offers Zinio Downloadable Magazines and IndieFlix for Rosenberg Library patrons.

Availability of these services is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; a patron will need access to the Internet and a valid Rosenberg Library card to use.

Zinio for Libraries is a digital collection of popular magazines that can be accessed from the web or through apps for PCs and Macs, Apple and Android phones and tablets, Windows 8, Kindle Fire/HD, Nook HD/HD+, and BlackBerry PlayBooks.

Cardholding patrons will have access to complete digital editions of magazines featuring brilliant full-color images, keyword searching, intuitive navigation and display, and interactive audiovisual elements.

Patrons will be able to enjoy both current and back issues of some of their favorite magazines.

The Economist, Forbes, Newsweek, National Geographic, Rolling Stone and Women’s Health are just a few of the exciting digital titles available in the library’s startup collection.

Patrons can get started with Zinio by logging in with their library bar code and will be prompted to create a personal reading account with Zinio in order to read and manage their checked-out titles.

Titles do not have due dates, never expire and do not accumulate fines. There is no checkout limit, and patrons can save issues permanently to their Zinio account for future reading.

IndieFlix for Libraries is a premier online streaming service provider of award-winning independent films, shorts and documentaries from more than 50 countries around the world.

Cardholding patrons will have unlimited access to thousands of streaming film-festival hits, including the best of Sundance, Cannes and TriBeCa, in addition to a diverse collection of short films and documentaries.

IndieFlix features a sleek design in order to facilitate easy browsing and searching.

Patrons are able to access the service on the web, Apple and Android phones and tablets and all Internet-enabled mobile devices.

Patrons also can enjoy films on TV with their Roku devices and Xbox gaming systems.

Setting up an RBdigital account with a Rosenberg Library card bar code is all that is required to start viewing high quality films.
