Misplaced evidence leads to dismissal in child murder case

A Santa Fe woman who was accused of murdering a 4-year-old girl last year was freed Monday after her case was dismissed by the Galveston County District Attorney’s office. But prosecutors say they hope she will soon be back in court after they refile the charge.
