I have videoed Hitchcock Graduations since 1986 and I have to say this was one of the best behaved student-wise. You're right, parents and other guests cannot be controlled and I've heard students over the last 36 years express embarrassment over the way their parents and guests acted. Principal Guerra did talk to the seniors and asked them to conduct themselves appropriately. To me it doesn't look right when they "dance across the stage". Mr. Adamson cured that by walking up to the two who attempted and handing them their diplomas. Otherwise, an excellent classy graduation. This was the class with class.

HE OR SHE HAS EARNED THIS SPECIAL DAY..... IF WANT TO DANCE ACROSS THE STAGE IN CELEBRATION THEY SHOULD....ID RATHER DANCE ACROSS THE STAGE, THEN NOT... I ALSO BELIEVE TEACHERS AND FACULTY SHOULD TELL THE GRADS IT'S A SPECIAL DAY AND WE SHOULD ALL CONDUCT OURSELVES APPROPRIATELY..... YOU CANT CONTROL THE PARENTS.....

AGAIN CONGRATULATIONS....TO ALL THE GRADS OF 2014 AND TO MY SON'S HARDWORK WITH THEIR SCHOLARSHIPS....

I too am disappointed when certain folks lack decorum. You see the lack of intellectualism, commonness and non-refinement when they are seeking attention while bellowing, hooping and hollering at events. It also sends not so great of a message. While it is an accomplishment to graduate, it's not the end-all to success. To get anywhere in life, one best be in graduating candidacy as a precursor to later success.

But life moves on after that, and it's more important what you do in the thereafter. I see more appropriate cheering to be done in the future, when the young adult graduate gains independence, a direction in life, and ultimate economic success.

I don't think the dancing students were an issue. Not one student was vulger or rude and some just wanted to make the walk they earned their own. I would be more concerned about the parents in the stand. While most were respectful, some decided after their childs' name was announced they could continue to carry on like they were in their own back yard. What a sign of disrespect ! Shame on you parents and adults.

Thank you Hitchcock administration for a dignified graduation ceremony. There were only a few who wanted to call attention to themselves by trying to "dance" their way across the stage but the majority of HHS Graduating Seniors realized the importance of the ceremony and made their parents and the community proud. Superintendent Barbara Derrick should be very proud of them and their teachers.
