Before Tuesday’s home match against Ball High, the Santa Fe Lady Indians volleyball team presented a check for the Snowdrop Foundation for $15,610.45 as a result of this year’s installment of the program’s Rally Around The Cause campaign. The total shattered Santa Fe’s goal of raising $13,000 for the foundation, which raises funds for childhood cancer research, advocacy programs for childhood cancer survivors and childhood cancer awareness. Santa Fe’s Rally Around The Cause campaign is inspired by former player Dana Marabella, who died of a rare form of brain cancer in 1999 at age 16. Each year, the team and Santa Fe ISD community sells shirts and other merchandise, with the proceeds of the sales going toward the Rally Around the Cause campaign.
