GARLAND — The Clear Falls Knights got their most shocking win yet in what has already been a Cinderella run to the state volleyball tournament, as they swept the No. 1 Amarillo Sandies 25-23, 25-19, 25-19 on Friday at the Curtis Culwell Center.

League City: No more deals on ammo; officers to pay taxes owed

Police officers no longer are able to piggyback on the department’s purchase of ammunition after the city found that as many as 83 officers did so and didn’t pay the appropriate taxes, the city announced Thursday. In many cases, the officers purchased the ammunition for personal and not work-related reasons, the city said.
