Galveston County SO: Deputy justified in firing weapon

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday defended its use of gunfire to prevent a resigned Austin Police Department officer from evading deputies on a beach in Port Bolivar this week. The man later killed himself, deputies reported.
