The coldest air of the season is headed for Texas today, with the front moving through southeast Texas tomorrow afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will accompany the cold front and clouds and cold rain may linger into early next week as a low develops off the Texas coast by Monday and tracks t to the northeast.

The cold front and a re-reinforcing push of cold air next week could bring temperatures into the 30’s over Galveston County by Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Meanwhile, motorists heading towards the northern Hill Country and South Plains northwest late this weekend may have to watch out for sleet and ice accumulations west of a Denton to Comanche line by late Sunday.
