The strongest cold front of the season pushed through Galveston County Tuesday afternoon. The cold front prompted a Wind Advisory for the Galveston area, where sustained winds of 31-mph and gusts to 38-mph had already been recorded at Scholes Field by 4 pm. The same front is prompting Gale Warnings over the Gulf of Mexico and the immediate coast where gusts to 45-mph or higher will be possible before winds begin diminishing on Wednesday.
Although Freeze Warnings are in effect north of Houston, the same winds barreling through the same winds whistling through the area, and some residual clouds, should keep temperatures well above the freezing mark Countywide. Lows Wednesday morning are currently projected to range from the upper-40’s on the coast to the low to mid-40’s inland.
