Jake, I think most islanders are proud of our exotic birds - the Rosie, the Ibis and the Sandhill (Sand Hill?) come to mind. They are so much fun to see!

I'd like to thank the paper for starting this blog. It really adds something to the online edition.

And lastly, I'd like to thank Ms. Amiet for agreeing to do it! Lovely little vignettes!

Probably my wife's favorite local bird. We spent many hours seeking the perfect photo online (we're not photographers ourselves). We then convinced the photographer to allow us to purchase a print. He eventually became enthusiastic about our request, and my wife ended up with a beautifully mounted, very striking print on her office wall.
