I like camping. I really do. I like hiking all day, taking in beautiful scenery and setting up a tent in the evening.

But I have never camped for concert tickets, iPads, Thankgsiving door buster sales, etc. And I have never camped out for the promise of free food.

Still, a lot of people do and I find it fascinating.

A spokeswoman for Chick-fil-A reports that more than 150 arrived early this morning, 24 hours ahead of Thursday’s opening of the new eatery, 19205 Interstate 45.

Each of the first 100 adults in line by 6 a.m. on Thursday will receive 52 free Chick-fil-A meal certificates for a year -- a total of more than $30,000 in free food. (Click here for rules). That’s a lot of chicken.

Have you ever camped out over night for the promise of a good sale or something free? Was it worth it?
