Q: Why should voters choose you?

A: I am now running for my 3rd term as City Councilman.

I believe in conservative spending.

I have never been afraid to argue difficult decisions to make sure that the citizen’s voices of Clear Lake Shores are heard from an unbiased position. In doing so, I have always tried to make sure that my decisions while serving my community on City Council were fair to all concerned.

Although we don't always agree on issues, I have an excellent working relationship with the seated Council members and our incumbent Mayor . If re-elected, I will welcome the opportunity to work with any newly elected official filling the Open Council Seat

Q: What are your specific qualifications for the position?

A:

a. Elected to my 1st term on City Council in 2009. Appointed as Council Liaison to the EDC.

b. Elected to my 2nd term on City Council in 2011. Appointed and still acting as Council Liaison to the EDC.

c. 6-year member of Road Committee (Chairman last 2 years).

d. 7-year member of EDC. Elected as a Director by City Council in 2006. Currently serving as Vice president of the EDC since 2008.

e. 8-year active member in the Civic Club (served 2 years as Vice President and I still do advertising art work for the Islander News Letter and Pin and Ink art auction items for fund raising events)

Q: What are the issues in this campaign?

A: I have to say the first half of this last term, as Councilman was very trying to say the least because there were lots of negative issues to contend with. All of that is history now.

I am currently a proud member of a Council, which has been in the process of putting things back in place and moving forward. The main issues facing our city are:

a. Maintaining the strong financial condition of our City.

b. Continued support of the Town Center Project.

d. Building Inspection Department responsibilities.

e. Council support of our NEW Police department.

Q: What is your platform on those issues?

A:

a. I will work with our City Administrator and Council to keep a balanced budget that satisfies our resident’s expectations and maintains our fiduciary culpability.

b. Because we depend on Sales Tax Revenue, I support our Town Center project and the potential impact it can have on our Sales Tax revenue if it is done right.

d. I will work with Council at eliminating gray areas in the responsibilities and interpretation of our City Ordinances by our Building Inspection Department.

e. Our Police department has been revamped in a positive manner. I will work with Council to make sure that it continues to operate smoothly as it is now.
