Yes__x____ No_______

Q: Why should voters choose you?

A: Voters should choose me for my devout commitment to Bayou Vista. My first and foremost concern is to keep our city progressing forward without destroying the unique flavor and character of Bayou Vista. I first came here as a weekender/summer resident in 1964, full time since 1984. I know what Bayou Vista is about. The spirit and camaraderie of our neighbors here are the heart and soul of this city. The last four years since Ike have been trying on some. I will do my best to continue to heal these gaps, without loosing sight of our future.

Q: What are your specific qualifications for the position?

A: I have been an independent businessman for over 30 years. I know the in’s and out’s of business, as well as how to properly construct and follow budgets. My years as an earth scientist and software developer have given me much experience at analytical problem solving. I do not rush to judgment, nor do I declare that the ‘sky is falling’ every time a problem or setback occurs. I have specific experience as a very active councilman here for the last 2 ½ years. I serve on four Galveston County boards, committees, and associations. (Candidate exceeded 110-word limit)

Q: What are the issues in this campaign?

A:

Continuity of progress. (Roads, IT, Transportation)

Continuity of Open Government.

Continuity of city employees and police department.

Continuity of sound financial management.

Other – Legal fees increase.

Q: What is your platform on those issues?

A: Progress: Round 2 of our Road Grant will begin shortly. We need to continue move forward with this project. I believe having ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’ for oversight on this project will only lead to further delays or worse. The grant monies are for repairing/rebuilding the roads, not to totally redesign the road and drainage infrastructure that has been in place since the sixties. We must also continue our progress on our IT infrastructure. Great strides have been made in the last couple of years, but I still need time to iron out a few more security and safety features. (Candidate exceeded 110-word limit)
