For the past 35 years, CDI Woodheat has been selling and installing fireplaces, stoves and accessories to Galveston County residents. They service most makes and models, including gas and wood burning fireplaces.
Every year brings new fireplaces with many configurations, vented or unvented, built-in, free standing or hang on wall.
Best type of heat?
As far as heating options, gas is the most popular. An unvented gas fireplace puts 99 percent of the heat back into the house. A regular wood-burning fireplace puts 60 percent of the heat in the house and 40 percent of the heat up the chimney. Plus, wood is expensive and difficult to find around the island during the winter, so having a gas-burning system is much more convenient. It also eliminates the much-loathed task of cleaning the fireplace.
You just have to flip a switch, and the fire starts. Most people enjoy that feature.
• If you have gas in your fireplace and are tired of burning wood, CDI has several styles and sizes of gas logs. Prices begin at $239.
• A feature offered with some gas logs is a remote control start-up option. Customers don’t even have to get off the sofa to start a roaring, cozy fire.
No gas? Try an electric fireplace with heater.
• If you purchase your logs from CDI, they will install them for a nominal fee if gas is already plumbed into your fireplace.
• We also have grates, andirons, log carriers, firestarters, color cones, bellows, ash buckets, hearth gloves and electric logs.
