To celebrate their 84th year of business in Galveston, Vic’s Jewelry has added the Precision Set Bridal Line to its collections of fine jewelry designers.

Precision Set Fine Jewelry understands that jewelry is the ultimate of personal expressions.

Their unique “Flush Fit” bridal design enables you to wear any Precision Set wedding band next to a Precision Set engagement ring comfortably and seamlessly.

Precision Set wedding bands are designed for life and crafted for a lifetime. All Precision Set bands may be ordered in any finger size, width, dimension or number of stones and are available in 18K, rose or yellow gold, as well as platinum.

Center stage in the bridal showcase is a platinum Halo Engagement ring, which features a .90 ct round brilliant diamond surrounded by 20 smaller diamonds.

It is one of the most popular engagement ring styles from the Precision Set line, Pagan said.

Another Precision Set collection favorite currently available at Vic’s is a diamond engagement ring designed for a .77 ct round brilliant center stone with seven round brilliant diamonds along each side.

As a complimentary service to Vic’s Jewelry customers, appraisal work on these Precision Set pieces has already been completed.

Once you’ve chosen the perfect engagement ring, don’t forget the matching band! Vic’s currently offers platinum Precision Set diamond eternity bands in .31 or .50 total carat weight that are perfectly suited to wear with any of the collection’s engagement rings.

From grand statement pieces to delicate embellishments, the Precision Set Fine Jewelry collection features unparalleled beauty and craftsmanship. Distinctly crafted platinum and 18K gold ensembles — from bracelets, earrings and necklaces to stunning pendants — are innovatively designed for the utmost in style and maximum allure.

Precision Set designs exude quality, with painstaking attention to the smallest detail. Precision Set uses only the finest precious metals and gemstones in each exquisite design — from the most delicate ring to the boldest statement piece.

Designer Jewelry

In addition to the Precision Set line, Vic’s Jewelry also has their largest selection of estate jewelry ever, with designers including Tiffany & Co., David Yurman, Lagos, John Hardy and more!

Sharon Levy Pagan, third generation owner of Vic’s, invites you to come in and browse their items acquired through the estate market from many esteemed designers.

“This is the best selection we’ve ever had,” Pagan said. “We’re able to offer something unique for every budget.”

Among the pieces available today is a sterling silver and 14K yellow gold double X cuff bracelet from David Yurman.

Another spectacular David Yurman piece offered at Vic’s is a sterling silver cable ring with 24 full cut diamonds with .60 total carat weight.

Estate Jewelry

Vic’s Jewelry began as Vic’s for Guns, a pawnshop owned by Pagan’s grandfather, Victor Reiswerg. Through the loan business, Reiswerg acquired and became knowledgeable about jewelry.

Pagan’s mother, Sara Levy, worked in the store with her father, and became a gemologist in 1975. Levy took over the business when Reiswerg died in 1980.

Levy, the first female G.I.A.-certified gemologist on Galveston Island, was passionate about antique and estate jewelry.

“She created a niche for estate and antique jewelry where one did not exist before,” Pagan said. “And she was my biggest cheerleader when I took over the business.”

Mrs. Levy died in 1997, but Pagan has continued the honored tradition of keeping Vic’s an island institution, and estate jewelry is still an integral part of their business. The store offers pieces from current designers, beautiful antique pieces and everything in between.

One of the estate pieces available today is a platinum and sapphire brooch converted into a necklace from the Art Deco period of 1920-1935. This time in history is noted for an dynamic change in women’s fashion that was defined by shorter skirts, bobbed hairdos and bold color combinations.

The Lady’s Art Deco brooch, which features 2.25 cts of Old European cut diamonds and is accented with four .09 ct rectangular faceted sapphires, is an elegant piece that is still stylish today.

The experienced staff can walk you through the process of choosing the right piece and explain the differences in cuts, colors, clarity and carat weight.

Pagan, who obtained her G.I.A. Gemologist certification in 1997, and her staff are available in the Vic’s Jewelry showroom from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
