Classic car restoration
Another area where Mr. Muffler excels is classic car repair and restoration. If you have a classic car that needs some work, come by Mr. Muffler and let them work on it! With their 40 years of experience, they are a trusted island source for any work you need done on your vehicle.
Mr. Muffler is educated with all the technical knowledge needed to repair your vehicle and restore it to the maximum potential.
For instance, when your “check engine” light comes on, it is often caused by the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter is the final filter for your car’s emissions, and it can be a costly repair. But Mr. Muffler doesn’t replace the converter unless absolutely necessary, they find out the root cause of the problem first. This ensures your “check engine” light does not come back on, and you don’t end up spending more than you have to!
Also, when they do replace a faulty converter, they use the converter specific to your car, instead of a generic converter that most repair shops use.
Mr. Muffler does encourage you to immediately bring your vehicle into the shop if your “check engine” light should come on, as the problem could cause costly damage to your vehicle if untreated.
How many miles do you have on your timing belt? Most manufacturers recommend timing belt replacement between 70,000 and 100,000 miles. Timing belts are made of rubber and when worn can break. With many vehicles a timing belt failure can cause serious internal engine damage. These extra repairs can be very costly. At the very least, when the timing belt fails the engine will no long run. Mr Muffler recommends that you change the timing belt as directed by your vehicles manufacturer. We have experience with timing belt replacement and most jobs can be completed in one day.
Don’t worry about making an appointment at Mr. Muffler, just come by as soon as possible, as it’s first-come, first-serve! They also offer rides home after dropping off a vehicle. If you are an A&M or UTMB student, make sure you let them know because Mr. Muffler gives a discount on service. Mr. Muffler is also a Spanish-speaking business.
